On Dec. 17 Amore Opera will open its new production of Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus.”<\/p>\n

The company will feature two back-to-back performances and from Dec. 27 through the 31 the company will perform five back-to-back performances, including a gala on New Year’s Eve. The cast will include Michael Ciuffitelli as Eisenstein and Haley Vick as Adele. Douglass Martin will conduct the orchestra and Nathan Hull, who is also playing Falke, will direct the production.<\/p>\n

Strauss’ operetta is one of the most popular hits for the holiday season as it tells the story of a New Years eve joke that goes too far. Featuring some of the most memorable waltzes and choruses “Die Fledermaus” is a great way to open the New Year.<\/p>\n

In between performances of “Die Fledermaus,” the company will also perform the holiday classic “Hansel and Gretel” by Humperdinck. Based the Grimm brothers’ fairy tale, the opera will be performed in an abbreviated form that will allow families to enjoy the work.<\/p>\n

Amore Opera was formed after the world-famous Amato Opera Theatre that closed in 2009. The company is operated by the very singers and instrumentalists of its predecessor Amato. As a non-profit company, Amore Opera seeks to be a platform for developing young artists and emerging professionals in the beginning\u00a0stages of their careers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
