On April 2, the Metropolitan Opera will revive a production of “Le Nozze di Figaro” with a new cast featuring some of the world’s greatest Mozartians and some rising stars. Among the rising stars set to grace the Met stage is Ying Fang who will sing her first Susanna on the Met stage.<\/p>\n
Having made her Met debut in 2013, Fang has performed in multiple productions with the company including “The Nose,” “Cendrillon,” “Tannhauser,” “L’Elisir d’Amore,”\u00a0 and “Hansel and Gretel.” Her first lead role with the company came during a revival of “Die Zauberflote” for four performances. After having performed in “Le Nozze di Figaro” as Barbarina, now she is set to take on her second leading role with the company as Susanna.<\/p>\n
Fang has performed the role at the Dutch National Opera and the Paris Opera. For her performance in Paris, OperaWire<\/a> noted, “She has a lyrical, round voice and astonishing projection, making her voice bright and ringing.”<\/p>\n This assignment is the first of many coming next season at the Met.
